Who we are
Brighton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of trained and vetted volunteers who assist the city of Brighton in a number of ways.
Our training includes the Basic CERT training form the Fedeal Emergency Management Administration Agency (FEMA) and additional training for the group and specific areas of interest for the individual members. Team members include a meterologist and storm chaser, an EMT, a Veterianary Assistance, and numerous Amateur Radio opertators (ham radio).
We assist the city with festivals and celebrations (Summerfest, Safety Fair, etc.) and as called upon for special requests, such as evidence searches.
One of our primary missions is to support a disaster emergency shelter should Brighton ever need to provide emergency shelter for its residents.
